Rulebook
Leagues exist so you can play full games, with no clock and no rush. In exchange they ask one thing: that you play your games inside the deadline.
Each league runs its own calendar, with the mission and the rules in force when the season starts. The numbers above are each league's own.
Pairing is by Swiss system. The first round is drawn at random; after that you always play somebody with a record close to yours whom you have not faced yet. Nobody repeats an opponent while anyone is still available.
If we are odd, somebody rests each round. The bye counts as a win and goes to the lowest-ranked player who has not had one yet. Never twice to the same person.
Each season chooses how games are drawn. In parejas (pairs), each round gives you one or more opponents from the table, as always. In anillos (rings), each round lasts a month and gives you a group of three: you play the other two, so meeting once is enough to play the whole round. If the numbers do not fit, some group is a ring of four played round-robin (A–B, B–C, C–D, D–A): always two games per person and nobody sits out. In pool, you get all your opponents up front, each game with its own chat, and you arrange them whenever you like before the season closes. Each season's format appears on its sign-up page, and the organisers can adjust it between rounds.
When you sign up you choose your army and load your list. When sign-ups close, both are fixed until the end of the season. They do not change between rounds.
The reason is simple: the draw happens the moment sign-ups close, so from then on any change already knows who you are playing. A list you can tweak based on the opponent you drew is not a list, and your opponent reads it before playing, counting on it being the one you bring to the table.
Between seasons you change whatever you like — each season starts with a fresh sign-up. If you loaded it wrong, talk to the organisers.
What you can change whenever you want is your name and your contact details: if you change phone numbers in round four, your opponent still has to be able to reach you.
Each round lasts whatever the league says — two weeks in most. As soon as the pairing is published, the two of you agree on a day and time.
Each round's closing date is published with the pairing. There are no extensions except for force majeure announced before the close.
The leagues' home is The Anvil Room. There are tables, terrain and people watching — it is where games are played best.
Final games are always played at the shop, no exception.
When you finish, one of you enters the score on the site and then both confirm it. The range depends on the league.
A result without both confirmations does not count. It does not enter the table until you both agree. If the score does not match your sheet, you reject it and it is entered again.
Win 3 points, draw 1, loss 0. If points are tied, the tiebreak is total score, then difference, and finally the strength of the opponents you drew.
If one of you does not show up — does not answer, does not arrange, or misses the agreed time — the other wins by the score the league defines for these cases (in most, 50–0). Whoever was willing to play is not punished.
If neither of you shows up, the game stands at 0–0: a draw, no points for anyone.
To decide which of the two cases it is, the organisers look at the game's thread on the site. That thread is the evidence: if you tried to arrange it and it was written down, you are covered. What is said outside cannot be arbitrated.
Leaving the league mid-season does not erase your earlier games: the points your opponents won off you keep counting.
All official communication — pairings, reminders, rule changes — goes through the league's Discord.
If you are not on Discord, you do not take part. It is not a whim: it is the only way nobody can say they did not hear.
Once the rounds are done, the top four play an in-person final at the shop: semi-finals and final in a single afternoon.
The prizes are handed out there, funded by the season's sign-up fee. The more people play, the better the prize.
You sign in with Discord, and that account is yours forever. Your history carries across seasons and leagues: you can play 40k in February and Kill Team in June with the same account.
To sign up for a season you have to be signed in: the entry is tied to your account, and that is where your profile, your ranking and access to the season room come from.
Missing a season does not keep you out of the next one.
